Happy Sunday, friends! Our new series is going to be a weekly roundup of our favorite finds from the week from myself and all of our shop girls. We hope to create a space to share what inspires us, what we’re loving, or just something we found that we thought we should share. We would also love to know what you guys are finding every week – inspiration is always needed!
We intended on starting our Sunday Series last week, but I had a cold hit me so hard on Sunday morning and it wiped me out for almost an entire week. Is it me or is everyone in Amarillo sick right now? Anyways, we are so excited to start this new series and can’t wait to hear what you guys are finding each week!
This is our first holiday in our new home and as exciting as it is, it’s kind of daunting to think about all of the decorating that we need to do in our new place. We have 2 fireplaces in this new house and can’t decide if we decorate both, or only do one. Also, the exterior?! A new house is a total game changer. I absolutely love everything that Studio McGee does and found this blog post of theirs showing tips for styling your holiday mantle really helpful. They have such great ideas and I just love the modern but not too modern and minimal but not too minimal look that they always do. Maybe it will help you guys out while you get to decorating!
This past week it was one of my dear friends 20th birthday, I struggled with what I should get her. She is for sure someone who is totally organized, and has her whole life together. Luckily I found the perfect gift for her right here at Semblance. It was the 2018 Lively floral planner, thankfully she fell in love with it just as much as I did. If you are looking for a gift for the well rounded girl, I highly recommend our planners!
I’ve always loved following the stories on Humans of New York, so when I saw that the creator was launching a video series I was so excited! The series includes thirteen videos. They were initially released one video per week but the complete series is now up on Facebook. (I believe this could be found on the HONY Facebook page) There were so many great things in each video, but if I had to choose just one favorite it would be Episode 12: Independence. If you’re a fan of the page, or have read the book, I would definitely recommend this series! Some stories made me laugh, and some made me tear up a little but it was so fun to take a peek into other people’s lives.
Lately I have really been into liquid lipsticks and I have been searching high and low for a good quality brand, and let’s be honest, your girl can’t afford lipsticks that are $20 each. So of course the Kylie Jenner lip kit was definitely out of the question, even though I think they are absolutely beautiful. (Side note– Something you need to know about me is that I have to research everything, and I mean everything.) So I went on the hunt for cheap, but good quality lipsticks and I came across a company called Colourpop, and me, being me, I did some research on this company. It was started in 2014 in Los Angeles, California by Seed Beauty. Their whole motto is about buying good quality makeup products without breaking the bank, and that is definitely evident in this company… AND they don’t even test their products on animals! Colourpop loves to keep up with the new trends. They release a new line of lipsticks every season and they just released their 2017 holiday colors. They have every color and every shade of that color imaginable. Not only do they have different types and formulas of lipsticks, but they also carry items, such as eyeshadows, blush, brow pencils, and highlighter! Y’all, I haven’t even gotten to the best part. Their liquid lipsticks are $6. $6! And, it is free shipping if your purchase is over $30. Can y’all tell I love this company? So naturally I ordered 10 different liquid lipsticks on Black Friday when they were on sale for $4 (yay!), and I absolutely love them! They are so beautiful, they feel so soft on your lips, and they last all day! So if you lovely people need some good holiday lipsticks or makeup, then I would definitely recommend Colourpop! Alright, I am done with my ranting. I hope y’all love this company as much as I do.
