The start of a new year brings so much time for reflection. Do any of you kind of cringe at the thought of setting New Years Resolutions? I tend to set some overall goals for myself but try not to be too hard on myself, either. I think it’s important to look ahead and think about everything to come, so myself and a few of our shop girls are sharing some of our thoughts on the New Year and what kind of goals we are setting.
I have big plans for 2018 but overall there are three things I’d like to actively work towards throughout the year. In 2018 I want to: travel more, be more active in my community, and enjoy being 22. I don’t have any specific travel destinations in mind, so if any of you have suggestions let me know! I am currently in one campus organization at WT, but I still feel like I could be doing more. I’d like to branch out a bit and maybe do more to help within the Amarillo community. Lastly, I just want to enjoy the year as much as possible. I tend to get so caught up in my school work and responsibilities that I forget how fun these years are supposed to be. I read a John Mayer tweet a few days ago and I really loved it. He said, “if you’re loving it this year, hold on because it goes by fast. If you’re not loving it this year, hold on because it goes by fast.” Cheers to 2018, ya’ll! I hope everyone has a happy new year!

2017 feels like a year that was a little hard on me. I struggled finding a balance between being the best Mother I could be and an involved business owner. I want to figure out how to manage my time better in 2018 so that I am not trying to work when I am with my daughter. I don’t know how that happens but if I figure out a way I will let you guys know. I also have to get this Mom guilt under control. I feel like when I do leave my daughter, I’m constantly worried about my time away from her and what I am missing.
I also struggled at the end of 2017 with being sick constantly, in fact, I feel like I’m currently coming down with a cold as I write this out right now. I want to focus on my heath in 2018 and getting well. I’ve mentioned this on our Instagram stories and found out that so many of you are wanting to get well too, and I think I will be sharing way more of that journey here with you guys. That will include weekly meal planning, workouts, etc. I also started a Pinterest board and would love to add you to it – if you are interested please email me or leave a comment below.
I can’t wait to see what the New Year brings for all of you! Here’s to endless amounts of happiness in 2018.
